MARIA SHARAPOVA has launched her debut range of clothing and accessories under her Sugarpova label, in partnership with New York retailer Henri Bendel. The tennis ace first told us back in June that she'd be expanding her existing range of sweets to incorporate fashion and beauty.
The new foray includes T-shirts, bags, hats, jewellery and hair accessories, retailing from $22 (£14) for a vest top to $58 (£37) for a pair of studded pavé earrings. Each piece features the same Sugarpova lips motif seen on the confectionary packaging.
"Henri Bendel was one of the first supporters of Sugarpova; we actually launched the candy there in the New York Fifth Avenue flagship exactly one year ago, and we were both eager to keep expanding the partnership," Sharapova told WWD. "The [new collection] will keep the fun, bubbly and sweet vibe going strong."
Sharapova made headlines earlier this week when it was announced that she was planning to temporarily change her surname to Sugarpova to promote her brand - but it proved too tricky to realise.
"In the end it just proved too difficult," she explained. "But that's only the beginning - we want to keep surprising people and sharing the fun."
The Sugarpova accessory collection is available to buy now at henribendel.com.
